Kwadwo ‘Kojo’ Brifo is the Country Managing Director for Freddy Hirsch, Africa’s leading supplier of spices, ingredients and flavours, where he is responsible for Freddy Hirsch activities in Nigeria and leads the establishment of its Ingredients and Flavors Manufacturing plant, Commercial Operations and regional Application Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
Brifo’s degrees in Biochemistry from Kwame Nkrumah’s University of Science and Technology, Ghana and a Master’s degree in Food Engineering and Technology, from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, uniquely positioned him for a career as a food scientist and a leading executive in the Flavor, Food and Beverages business in the Middle East and Africa.
Prior to Freddy Hirsch, Brifo worked at Kerry Ingredients and Flavors, the world’s leading taste and nutrition company in its Beloit, Wisconsin, head office and grew progressively before he was relocated to play a key role in global technology transfer from Kerry North America to its South Africa operations in Johannesburg, South Africa. He also worked at Sensient Technologies, a global manufacturer and marketer of colors, flavors and fragrances, as Senior Application Technologist, Savoury Flavors and was responsible for driving Savoury Enhancement systems portfolio, Taste Platforms, Raw Material Consolidations and product transfers between manufacturing sites. He also worked at the Ghana Food and Drugs Board and possesses both regulatory and operator experience in food technologies.
Veronica Randall
Procurement Manager
Veronica Randall is the Procurement Manager at Freddy Hirsch Nigeria. She is responsible for the procurement, certification, and approval of local and imported raw materials in compliance with international standards. Randall applies business dexterity to manage the supply chain and ensure that the correct products land at the right price, at the right time, to ensure continuous production.
She was previously engaged in the South African fresh fruit industry, where she developed her expertise in cost chain and supply chain management of perishable products especially Citrus fruit from South Africa and table grapes from Namibia.
Randall joined the Freddy Hirsch group in 2014 as Exports Division Officer at its Head Office in Cape Town, South Africa, and has functioned in successive administration and management roles.
She earned a degree in Marketing Management from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
Oluwaseyi Ogunfodunrin
Quality Assurance and Technical Manager
Oluwaseyi Ogunfodunrin is the Quality Assurance and Technical Manager of Freddy Hirsch, Nigeria. She is responsible for coordinating and planning Food Safety programs, Quality Control processes, and relevant regulatory matters for the Nigeria Plant. Specifically, she leads the plant Food Quality and Safety Improvement Programs including FSSC 22000:5.1, ISO 9001 and HAS 23000 implementation.
With over ten years of professional work experience, she has successfully led Quality Assurance/Control teams of organizations and made a significant contribution in the implementation, coordination, and provision of efficient quality support system to manufacturing sites spanning across Quick Service Restaurants, Bakery and Confectionery, Foods &Beverages and Cosmetics in Nigeria.
She earned a degree in Biochemistry from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, before she qualified as a Chartered Chemist. She is also a safety professional, an imminent Public Analyst, and holds memberships of notable relevant professional bodies in Nigeria. She also acquired Certifications in Food Safety, Quality Management, HSE, Halal Assurance, Chemical Management, Public Analysis, Management Proficiency, and Leadership.
Before Freddy Hirsch, she worked with Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt, California inc. USA as well as other leading FMCGs and hospitality companies in Nigeria.
Uzo Emenike
Product Manager
Uzo Emenike is the product manager of Freddy Hirsch, Nigeria. As a certified food technologist passionate about creating food ingredients solutions for the growing metropolitan market, she currently leads the Product Development Team of the company. Emenike’s area of expertise includes Flavour Application, Ingredients Functionality, Cost Optimizations, Raw material Consolidations, Business Development and Market Surveys.
Before her employment with Freddy Hirsh, she worked with Unilever Nigeria in its Food Ingredients Research and Development team.
She earned a degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and holds a Postgraduate degree in Food Technology from the Bells University of Technology, Otta.
Temitope Faremi
Production Manager
Temitope Faremi is the Production Manager at Freddy Hirsch Nigeria. As Production Manager, he is responsible for planning production processes with minimum wastage, while ensuring maximum utilization of resources.
Faremi has over ten years of experience in food technology in Nigeria and utilizes his proficient skills in Quality Management System, Food Safety Management System, and Quality Assurance to oversee the production of safe and quality products that meet regulatory and statutory requirements, as well as customer satisfaction.
Faremi earned a degree in Microbiology from Adekunle Ajasin University and bagged a diploma in Operations Management (OPS) at Alison, Galway, Ireland. He is a Chartered Project Manager and holds memberships at the Business Process Management Institute and the Global Institute of Project Management. He also holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and several certifications in Scrum, Project Management, and Food Safety Management.
Before Freddy Hirsch, Faremi worked with leading FMCGs including Sympli and GB Foods Nigeria.
